Homemade Frozen Dog Treats!

Homemade Frozen Dog Treats!

Summer is here and temperatures are rising! What better way to keep your furry friends cool this summer than with some frozen treats? Today I have two “pupsicle” recipes that are sure to keep your pooch satisfied all summer long.

Single Ingredient Frozen Meat Bites

For these meaty flavored treats you’re only going to need one ingredient: meat broth! You can use chicken or beef flavored broth, I did a few of each.

To start, pour your broth into silicone ice cube trays.  I got mine on Amazon for relatively cheap!

Next just fill your trays with the broth and freeze! It takes about an hour for them to freeze all the way through.

And you’re done! These are the quickest and easiest treats to make when your dog needs a quick cool down!

Frozen Berry Treats

For these treats you will again need your silicone ice cube trays, along with a blender, water, and some frozen fruit. I used a frozen berry blend that contained blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries but any frozen fruit will work (as long as it’s safe for dogs!).

Put your frozen fruit into a blender along with some water and blend until you’ve got a liquid.

Tip: Add some plain or greek yogurt to give the treats a creamier consistency

Pour your liquid into the ice cube trays and then freeze for about an hour.

Once your treats are frozen pop them out and you’ve got the cutest frozen snack for your pups! These are perfect to enjoy on a hot summers day! Be careful, they stain easily, and are better enjoyed outdoors.
