These days, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have an Amazon shopping addiction. The online retailer has everything you could need from household essentials to clothing and they don’t discriminate by species 😉 Amazon has a ton of products for dogs ranging from necessities such as food to fun items such as pet costumes and toys. If you’re in need of supplies to keep your pup cool, safe, and happy this summer then you’re in luck! Today, I’m sharing my list of Amazon essentials for your dog this summer.

Cooling Products

In most areas of the world, summertime means extreme heat. While most dogs can tolerate the hot weather for a period of time, it’s important that we take extra precautions to ensure they don’t experience heat exhaustion. Luckily, Amazon has plenty of awesome products that will help keep your pup cool during the hot summer months.

1. Cooling Bandana

My dogs wear seasonal bandanas year round so I especially love the concept of a cooling bandana for the summer! Amazon has a ton of super cute cooling bandana options that are not only fashionable, but also functional. The bandanas work by wetting them, wringing them out, and then you have the option to put it straight on your dog or in the fridge and then on your pup! As the water evaporates, the bandana absorbs the heat and keeps it away from your dog!

2. Cooling Mat

Another great option for keeping your dog cool in the summer is a cooling mat. A cooling mat is essentially a blanket that absorbs your dogs body heat to keep the surface cool. They’re made of a breathable mesh material and perfect to use on a patio or beach!

3. Elevated Cot

I bought elevated cots for my two Siberian Huskies this summer and so far they’re one of my very favorite dog products I own! They are the perfect outdoor lounging space for your dog in the summer to keep them cool. The elevation allows an airflow to get underneath the cot, keeping your dog from overheating. Plus, they’re made of a breathable mesh material so they don’t absorb too much heat!

4. Cooling Water Bowl

Cold water is a must have in the summer for us, and our dogs enjoy it too! This cooling water bowl is perfect for the summer because it keeps your dogs water cold for up to 15 hours. The bowl has cooling crystals that are activated by filling the interior with water and placing it in the freezer overnight. The next day your pup will have fresh cold water all day long!

Safety Products

While summer offers plenty of opportunity to get outside and go on adventures, it’s important to stay safe while doing so. If you’re looking for safety tools for your dog this summer, check out these items on Amazon.

5. Life Jacket

Taking your dog swimming is the perfect summer activity, but even the strongest swimmer can have accidents. If your pup is going to be swimming in large bodies of water, putting a life jacket on them is a necessity.

6. Booties

Pavement and concrete can get really hot in the summer and will do extreme damage to your dogs paws. Booties are a good option for walking on rocky terrain, pavement, or concrete to prevent paw burning, cracking, and other injuries.

7. Bug Spray

In many areas, it’s impossible to go outside in the summer and not get bitten by mosquitoes or ticks and unfortunately it’s no different for our dogs! Investing in a dog safe bug spray is a good idea for lake days, hiking, or long days spent outdoors.

Fun Products

The most important part of summer is to have fun! There are so many activities you can include your dog in during the warm months and Amazon has the perfect options to assist with all the fun.

8. Dog Pool

If your dog loves to swim, consider investing in a pool made just for them! Amazon has dog specific pools that are designed to not pop or rip from nails or teeth. Plus, you won’t have to worry about dog fur clogging up and dirtying your own pool.

9. Silicone Molds

Fun shaped silicone molds are perfect for making frozen doggy treats and popsicles. These yummy treats are easy to make, and the perfect way to keep your pup cool on a super hot day.

10. Freezable Toys

Toys that can be filled with water and frozen are perfect for keeping dogs entertained and cool in the summer. These toys also float, making them a perfect addition to a pool or beach day!
