4 Poses to do with Your Dog for the Cutest Photos
Ask to see any dog moms camera roll and you’re bound to see tons of photos of their dog. We all think that everything our dogs do is photo worthy but how often do you get pictures with your dog? Whether you want to feature yourself on your dogs Instagram or just simply want some cute pics with your pup, having pictures with your dog will bring joy and memories for years to come. Today, I’m sharing 4 poses for the perfect pictures with your dog.
How to Take Pictures with Your Dog
Over on my Instagram account, @thatonedogmomblog, I share a ton of pictures of me and my dog Luna together. Since I’m the voice of her account and the face behind this blog, I think it’s important to feature myself almost as often as I feature her. Unfortunately, I don’t have a personal photographer following me around to take pictures of me and my dog.
Since I don’t have someone available to take pictures for me whenever I need them, I found a way to take them on my own. While you could definitely use the camera timer and a tripod to get pictures on your own, I prefer to use my iPhones video feature.
Whenever I want to stock up on some more pictures of me and my dog, I find a place to prop up my phone and start recording a video using the front facing camera. Then, I simply grab my dog and the two of us spend several minutes posing in front of the camera. Once I feel confident that I got some decent shots, I go through the video and screenshot my favorites.
I love this method for getting pictures when I don’t have help because it gives me the opportunity to get cute candid photos as well as posed ones. As beautiful as Luna is, she’s definitely not ready to be a professional model, and as a result I spend a lot of time laughing at her as she goofs off and refuses to pose for a picture. Some of these unplanned pictures turn out to be my absolute favorites.
4 Poses for the Cutest Photos with Your Dog
Simply sitting next to your dog can produce a cute picture, but it can get pretty boring after awhile. Here are 4 poses to do with your dog to get the perfect picture:
Squat to Their Level
Unless you own a giant dog breed, your dog is probably significantly shorter than you are. A pretty standard, but always cute, pose is to simply squat down to your dogs level.
This one pose can give you multiple different pictures. You have the option to both smile at the camera, smile at each other, or even something fun like a boop on the nose or a laughing shot!
Kisses
Who doesn’t love kisses from their pup? Give your pup a kiss on the face or get them to give you a kiss instead. These pictures are always some of my favorites of me and Luna because it shows the pure love we have for each other.
Stand and Watch
Stand up next to your dog while they sit beside you. Then, have them look up at you while you look down at them. These pictures show a precious bond between a dog and their owner and I think they always come out so cute and wholesome.
Hugs
Hugging photos are another one of my favorites. Sitting on the ground next to my dog with my arms wrapped around her always make for an adorable photo op.
These ones are also great to take from behind, especially when doing something with a great view such as hiking or watching a sunset.
