8 Fall Activities To Do With Your Dog

8 Fall Activities To Do With Your Dog

Fall is by far my favorite time of year. Something about the cool weather, changing leaves, and build up to the holiday season just brings me so much joy! With fall comes plenty of new activities that you can do with your family or friends and luckily, a lot of them can include your dog too! If you’re planning on going out for some fun this fall, don’t forget to include your pup. Today I’m sharing with you 8 fall activities that your furry friend can enjoy too.

1. Hiking

Fall brings the perfect hiking weather and also the most beautiful scenery. If you have a high energy pup, take them out for a fall hike! Dogs love to explore new places, smells, and sights and the cooler temps will make the trek much more bearable for them. Find a dog friendly trail and bring the pup with you for some gorgeous views and fun exercise.

2. Camping

Camping is the perfect fall activity for outdoorsy folks and chances are, your dog will love it too! Find a dog friendly campground and take your pooch out for a night in the woods. Before taking your dog on a camping excursion, make sure they’re up to date on all their vaccines as well as their flea and tick prevention. You’ll also want to bring a first aid kit, portable food and water bowls, ID tags and medical information for your pup, and a leash and harness. Toys and treats aren’t a bad idea to bring either! And of course, make sure you share a bite of your hotdog 😉

3. Apple Picking

The best time of year for apples is definitely the fall! If you’re going apple picking with your friends or family this year, bring your pup along! Apples are a perfectly safe treat for dogs and your pup will definitely appreciate being in on all the fall fun!

4. Pumpkin Patch

Is it really fall if you didn’t get your annual pumpkin patch photo? Bring the pup along this year and let him explore all the pumpkins and help you pick out the best one! Plus, what’s cuter then a dog in a pumpkin patch? You’ll be sure to get all the instagram likes this year!

5. Tailgate

Are you a football fan? If you’re planning on having a socially distant tailgate or football party this year, bring your dog with! If your dog is social and knows not to steal any food, he’ll have a blast getting pets from all the people and running around outside chasing after the ball.

6. Dress Them Up

Nothing is cuter than a dog in a costume. This year, let your pup join in on the dress up fun! There are plenty of dog costumes on Amazon and chewy.com to choose from and you can even take them along for the trick or treating this Halloween!

7. Have A Movie Marathon

Fall is the perfect time of year to spend a Saturday snuggled up on the couch binging your favorite TV show or movies. Your dog will love cuddling up with you and snoozing away as you eat your favorite snacks and enjoy a movie marathon.

8. Bake Pumpkin Treats

Who says only humans get to enjoy all the pumpkin goodies fall has to offer? Pumpkin is an excellent source of nutrients for dogs, so this year, bake your pup some pumpkin treats too! I have a pumpkin bread recipe on the blog that my dogs loved!
